Photo Book Sharing
ColorMailer's "Photo Book Sharing" feature allows you to let others view and print your photo books.
We have two sub-divisions in "Photo Book Sharing".
- 1) My Photo Books - All photo books created by you will be available in the My Photo Books section.
- 2) Public Photo Books - This page consists of all the photo books shared publicly by you as well as other users.
My Photo Books
My Photo Books is a secluded zone exclusively for the photo books you create. All photo books you create automatically get saved under "My Photo Books". Others cannot view or access your photo books stored in "My Photo Books.
Actions you can perform in "My Photo Books"
1) Share / Unshare publicly
If you feel that your photo book stored in "My Photo Books" is a work of art that deserves better display, you can publicly share it with others. Once you publicly share a book stored in "My Photo Books", a copy of it will be displayed under "Public Photo Books". By publicly sharing your book, you are not allowing complete access of your photo book to other users. Though others can view your book, they cannot copy / save/download your book or photos. Your photos will be safe.
Publicly shared photo books under "Public Photo Books" tab will be visible to all users visiting the site. But they cannot view any of your unshared books stored in "My Photo Books". If you are making any changes to a publicly shared photo book, you don't need to share it again. Your book will get updated once you save it and others can view your updated book under "Public Photo Books".
All users can print publicly shared photo books.
If you choose to unshare a publicly shared photo book, it will no longer be displayed under "Public Photo Books". No one will be able to view it unless you privately or publicly share it with them again.

How do I share /unshare my photo book publicly on ColorMailer?
Go to "My Photo Books", click on the photo book you want to publicly share with others. The book details page will open with options to "Order" and "Share" your book. Select the appropriate sharing method (Public or Private) and click on the "Share" button.
In the pop-up that opens, enter the title and search tags for your book. Select a category from the "Category" drop down list and click on the "Share Publicly" button. Once a book is publicly shared, it will be displayed under "Public Photo Books". Anyone visiting the ColorMailer website can view it.
To unshare a publicly shared photo book, go to "My Photo Books" and click open the photo book you want to unshare. Select the "Undo Public Share" option on the right-hand side and click on the "Unshare" button. You will be asked to confirm this action. Click the "Ok" button to confirm the "Unshare" process. You will be shown the confirmation that the book has been successfully "Unshared".
2) Share / Unshare privately
If you want only a select few friends to view your photo book stored in "My Photo Books," you don't need to share it publicly. You can privately share the book with them using our "Share Privately" option. Your friends can view your book by clicking on the link in the share email he/she receives from us.
If you have privately shared a photo book with your friends, they all can print your book. Your privately shared photo books will be visible only to the users you shared it with. It won't be listed among the "Public Photo Books".
If you edit a privately shared book and save it, the changes you make will automatically reflect at your friend's end too. It's not possible for your friends to download / copy / save photos from your shared photo book.
If you want to unshare a privately shared book, you can remove your friends' email addresses from the "Share Privately" option. Once unshared, your friends won't be able to view or print your photo book again.

We would recommend that before sharing, you check with your friends if they have already registered with ColorMailer. If already registered, you need to enter the email addresses they used while registering with ColorMailer.
To unshare a privately shared photo book, go to "My Photo Books" and click on the photo book you want to unshare. You will be taken to the book details page. Select the "Share Privately/Unshare option and click the "Share/Unshare" button. In the pop-up that opens, select the email addresses you want to remove and click on the "Unshare" link at the top. Click "OK" when prompted. You will be shown a confirmation message that the "Unshare" process has completed successfully.
How do I view photo books others shared privately with me?
You will receive an email from ColorMailer whenever a friend shares a photo book privately with you. The email will contain a link to the photo book.
If you are already logged in to ColorMailer, just click on it and view the book. Otherwise you need to login to view the photo book
You cannot view the book if your friend has sent the private share email to an email address different from the one you normally use to login to ColorMailer. In such an event, ask your friend to send the private share email to your ColorMailer login email address.
You can also view the photo books others shared with you by clicking on the "My Shared Books" link at the top on "My Photo Books" page.
Public Photo Books
When you publicly share a photo book stored in "My Photo Books", a copy of it automatically gets stored under "Public Photo Books". Your publicly shared photo books under "Public Photo Books" will be visible to all users visiting the website. Under "Public Photo Books," you can view photo books publicly shared by others also. None of your privately shared photo books will be listed under "Public Photo Books"
When you unshare a publicly shared photo book, it will disappear from "Public Photo Books" and others will not be able to view it.
All users can print publicly shared photo books. Still nobody can copy/download/save your photos digitally.

How do I view photo books listed under "Public Photo Books"?
All publicly shared photo books are listed under the "Public Photo Books" tab. Click on any photo book to view details. The book cover will show up by default. Click on the pages (either side) or on right / left arrows below the photo book to flip through the pages. To view the book "full screen", click on the icon in the bottom left corner. Press Esc key to quit full screen view.
How do I order a photo book displayed under the "Public Photo Books" tab?
Click on the photo book you want to order. The book will load. Click on the Order button to add the book to cart. Next, click on View Cart button to go to cart and proceed to the order confirmation page.
How do I search for a photo book using keywords/tags?
Go to "Public Photo Books". Enter your keyword in the "Search Publicly shared Books" field on the right panel and click on the "Go" button. All photo books tagged with the keyword will be listed. Pick your photo book from the list and proceed.
How do I sort the photo books listed under the "Public Photo Books" tab?
Go to "Public Photo Books" tab. In the top left-hand corner, there is a "Sort by" drop down list where you have options to sort the photo books by "Most Viewed", "Book Name" or "Recently Shared."
You can also browse by different categories listed on the right panel, under the header "Browse by category."
How do I edit photo books publicly shared by others?
It's not possible for you to edit photo books created by others. You can edit only the books created by you.
I have added a privately shared photo book to my shopping cart. What if the owner makes any changes to that book before I confirm the order?
Whenever the photo book owner makes changes to the book, it gets updated immediately in our database. In such cases, you will see a warning message stating that the content of the book you are trying to order was modified recently. If you want to check the photo book before confirming, click on the "Cancel" button to halt the order process. You may go back and check the photo book and see if everything is okay. Once you are satisfied with the content you can restart the order process.
Your Account and Profile
If you have a ColorMailer account:-
- 1. Click on 'Log in' on the home page.
- 2. Enter your 'Username' and 'Password' in the window that pops up and click 'Log in'.
- 3. If you want to modify your ColorMailer profile or change the password, click on 'Account Settings'. Modify the fields you need to change and click 'Save.

What does 'Stay signed in' mean?
By checking the 'Stay signed in' box you get automatically signed in each time you visit us.
This feature will be active even if you close the browser or shut down the computer. This feature will be reset when you sign out or when cookies are cleared from the computer. We recommend that you uncheck this box on shared computers, to protect information.
Configuring Products
- 1. To shop for a product, click on the product name or screen shot.
- 2. In the product intro page, click on 'Get Started' button.
- 3. Click on 'Get images' button to select the images you want to print.
- 4. Browse to your desired folder through the popup and click 'Open' after selecting your images.
- 5. Clicking on 'Upload' will take you to the product configuration page. Here you can (a) know the quality of the image uploaded (b) select the paper size for printing (c) select whether to 'Crop' or 'Adjust' the image, and (d) provide the number of prints you need of each uploaded image.
- 6. If the quality of your uploaded image is poor, a red hazard symbol will appear beside the 'Preview' pane. Clicking on the hazard symbol will show you a chart with details of image quality.
- 7. You can select the dimensions of the prints you order by clicking on the drop-down menu listing the available print sizes.
- 8. You can select to crop or adjust your image while printing by clicking on 'Crop' or 'Adjust'. To know more about 'Crop' and 'Adjust', click on the question mark besides the options.
- 9. The number of prints you wish to order can be entered in the 'Quantity' column below.
- 10. If you have multiple images needing same options, you can use the 'Configuration Tool' to select the image dimensions, choose the quantity of prints, and to 'crop' or 'adjust' them. Crop and Adjust ( View video )
Crop and Adjust are tools used when the width-height ratio of your image differs from the width-height ratio of the paper it is to be printed on. This width-height ratio is called the aspect ratio.
Sometimes the aspect ratio of your image (mostly fixed by the camera you use) may differ from that of the chosen print size. So, parts of your image may be cropped off to fit the print size you order.
Adjust helps resize your image to completely fit the paper format and none of it is lost.

What colour profile does the ColorMailer Lab use?
The ColorMailer Lab uses the ICC sRGB colour profile. You can get detailed explanations and specifications about this standard colour profile on http://www.color.org/sRGB.html. It is very important that you are using this mode and not CMYK if you are either reworking the files in an image-editing program or if you are using a scanner to acquire the images.
Uploading Photos from Desktop
- 1. To upload photos from your computer, click on 'Get images from PC' button at the center of the page or click on 'Upload' buttons placed on the upper and lower corners of the page at the left side. This will bring up the media library tools.
- 2. Click on 'Browse for files' button in the 'Desktop' tab and click 'Open' after selecting your images.
- 3. If you want to make a new album to store your photos, click on 'Create new album', provide a title and description, and click the 'Create!' button.

Retrieving photos stored in ColorMailer Albums
- 1. To retrieve a photo stored in the albums at ColorMailer, click on the 'ColorMailer' tab beside the 'Desktop' tab towards the lower left corner of the page.
- 2. Clicking on the names of the albums you created will display the images stored in them.
- 3. To use any of the photos, click and drag the image to the workspace at the center of the page.
Where can I find a sample calibration image similar to ColorMailers color profile?
- To download a sample calibration image, please click here. By calibrating your monitor according to this sample calibration image, you can ensure that the prints you receive will be similar to the standardized RGB color profile used by ColorMailer.
I have finished configuring my product. What should I do next?
Once you have completed configuring a product, click on the "Add to cart" button to start the order process. A pop-up alert will open with two options - "Continue shopping" and "View shopping cart". If you are done with your shopping and want to start order process, click on the "View shopping cart" button. If you wish to order more products, click on the "Continue shopping" button.
You can access your shopping cart anytime by clicking on the shopping basket icon in the top right-hand corner of the website after logging in. On the shopping cart page, you can edit or delete your shopping cart by clicking on the "Edit" and "Delete" buttons respectively. If you want to order more copies of the same product, just modify the number displayed in the "Quantity" field. Click on the "Discard shopping cart" link to abandon all items in your shopping cart.
The total price (excluding the shipping price - the shipping price is shown on the "Order Preview" page where you would be confirming your order) of the added products is displayed at the bottom of the shopping cart page.

ColorMailer desktop software is available in the following countries and languages: Belgium (Dutch, French), Nederlands (Dutch), Switzerland (German, French, Italian), France (French), UK (English) and Germany (German). If you do not belong to any of these countries, download the international version (English).
Are the skins reusable?
Though the skins are designed for single application, if treated with care, it is possible to remove and reuse them. In fact, many of our customers have confirmed that they were able to remove and reapply the same skin several times with no issues. But, due to the special nature of the adhesive, it is important that you should put them back on its liner once removed and keep it pressed flat (Keeping the skin beneath some heavy, flat objects like books will help).

Click on the "Back to shopping" link to get back to the shopping area again. Choose your product by clicking on the tabs on top of the screen. Configure your product, add it to cart, enter your address and proceed to the order preview page.
How can I change the configuration of a product added to the shopping cart?
Click on the "Edit" button next to the product thumbnail in the shopping cart. It will open in the workspace where you can customize it as per your preferences.
If you have added more than one item from a product category, click on the "Edit all products" button. If you click a category name, all items added from that category will open in the workspace. After editing the product, click on the "Add to cart" button again to continue.
I have changed the quantity of products in the shopping cart. Why is the price not changing?
Once you have finished changing the quantity, click on the "Recalculate" button to update the price displayed on the shopping cart.
Why is the total price displayed in the shopping cart different from the total price shown on product configuration page?
The price displayed on the product configuration page includes the shipping price, whereas the price shown in shopping cart is exclusive of shipping. The difference between these two prices is the shipping price of the product. You can see the actual amount payable on the "Order preview" preview page.
Why is the the number of items displayed near the shopping cart icon in the top right-hand corner different from the total quantity in the cart?
The number shown in the top corner is the total number of product types (categories) added to the cart, not the quantity of products added from each category. Click on the "View shopping cart" button to see the actual number of products added to the shopping cart.
How do I use the promotional voucher codes?
You can provide coupon codes at the Checkout page and avail the discounts by clicking on 'Apply to Order'. All valid coupons will be recognized by the system and the offer will be discounted from your order total amount.
How do I find out the printing sizes and price details for different ColorMailer products?
Clicking on the 'Price Catalog' button displayed at the left side of the home page will take you to a page with price and size details of various products. You can switch between details of each product by clicking on the product names or icons. You can also access the 'Price Catalog' by clicking on the names or screen shots of products at the home page and then clicking on the "View details and pricing" link in the page that opens up.
Can I use ColorMailer voucher codes for FastLab's products?
The voucher codes for FastLab and ColorMailer are generated separately and will work only for the website it is made for.
How do I find out the quality of prints?
If the quality of the uploaded image is poor or unsuitable for the chosen paper size, ColorMailer will display a red hazard symbol with an exclamation mark to indicate that the quality is poor and would result in low-quality prints. Clicking on the hazard symbol will show you a chart as to how printing-friendly your uploaded image is. The symbol will disappear if you choose a paper size suitable for the uploaded image.
What happens if an error occurs or the page stops responding when I am placing the order?
If the user is logged in to ColorMailer and the web page stops responding or any similar error occurs, the items you added to the shopping cart will be saved automatically. You can login to ColorMailer again and find your order by clicking on 'Shopping Cart' link on the top right-hand corner of the home page. You can view details of all your orders at the 'My Orders' tab by clicking on 'Account Settings' at the home page.
Are there any limits in adding products to the shopping cart?
ColorMailer does not have any limitations on the number of products you can add to the shopping cart.
If you are trying to order more than 600 items at a time, our ordering system may not work properly. To avoid the chance of any error, we suggest you to break the order into 600 items per order and place multiple orders. Once you have placed your first order, click on the 'Continue shopping' button to add the next set of items to the shopping cart.
Do I need Adobe Flash Player to access ColorMailer?
As ColorMailer's websites are built using Adobe Flex, you need to have Flash Player version 9.0.124 or above installed in your system to access the websites. If your computer doesn't have a suitable Flash Player installed, a link to download the latest version of the player will be displayed. Upload limits are regularly optimized for best web performance. The maximum file upload size for each category is 30MB

Cart Recovery

Will ColorMailer ship products overseas?
Yes, ColorMailer ships products overseas. International shipping rates are applicable for such orders. The delivery time is normally higher for overseas orders.
Could I send images as a CD or send a roll of film?
Yes, we accept images for orders in a CD or DVD if necessary information like address, size, and quantity are provided along with it. Please include adequate information to help us process your orders correctly.

In addition to Visa and MasterCard credit cards, we accept payment by invoice from our customers in Switzerland, Finland, and Germany. ColorMailer systems in other countries offer automated credit-card payment processes using secure connections to guarantee full security and low prices to our customers.
How can I get multiple products/orders processed as a single shipment?
For the convenience of customers, ColorMailer groups the products into package combinations, rather than sending each product as a separate package. Prints and photo posters are grouped into a package while posters and canvas, fine art prints make another package. Greeting cards are sent as a separate package due to their limited size. To prevent damage, fine art prints up to 30x45cm are shipped in a separate package if smaller than other products in the same order.Normally, posters will be packed with canvas and fine art prints.
What should I do if the products are damaged on delivery?
At ColorMailer, we always strive to serve our customers in the best way possible. If you receive products in a damaged condition upon delivery, please contact our Customer Service department. We would be happy to resolve your complaint.
What should I do if I am unsatisfied with the quality of the products?
In case you are not satisfied with one of our products, please contact our Customer Care department and inform them of the difficulty you are facing. We can then arrange for you to return the product and receive a refund for the full corresponding value, including your postage costs. If desired, the compensation can be given in the form of a credit for a future order.
What should I do if I receive a wrong shipment?

Could I cancel or change my order?
When you place an online order, the automated production process for the product begins right away. Therefore, it is not possible to cancel or modify the order in normal circumstances. What should I do if the order wasn't delivered fully?
Chances of an incomplete order being delivered to you is very less with ColorMailer's automated order processing. In case you are delivered an incomplete order, please contact the Customer Service department for resolution. We would be happy to help you find a solution.
Will I get my money back if I accidentally pay twice?
Yes, if you accidentally pay twice while placing the order, you can get a refund or avail credits for future purchases. Please notify the Customer Service department if you face such a scenario.
How is the cost of shipping calculated?
The cost of shipping includes charges for handling, packaging, and shipping. This is calculated individually for each order based on the size and weight of an order. We try to pack products together as much as possible to lessen the shipping cost for you.
What should I do if I did not receive an order confirmation mail?
One of the common reasons for not receiving a confirmation mail for an order is message filtering or anti-spam filters. In case you do not receive the confirmation mail, please check your filtered messages to make sure the confirmation mail has not been filtered out of your inbox. If you do not find the confirmation mail even among the filtered mails, please contact our Customer Service department immediately.

- 1. To avail of the 1000 (10x15 cm, standard) free prints offer, login to your ColorMailer account and click on the "Recommend Us and get 1000 (10x15 cm, standard) FREE prints!" link just below the ColorMailer logo on the home page. This link is featured on all product pages of ColorMailer at the same location.
- 2. In the page that pops up, enter a) your name, b) email address, c) the message you want your friends to see, and d) the email addresses of your friends you want to send the message to.
- 3. You can also access your address books from GMail, MSN Hotmail, or YAHOO! To access the address book, select the email service provider and enter you email address and password. Then click on the 'Log in' button.
- 4. Your address book will be displayed in a window below the 'Log in' button. To send your message to all of your contacts, check the box 'Select/deselect all'.
- 5. To remove any of your contacts from the recipient list, uncheck the box near to their email address.
